>up north: palaui island and anguib beach

>White sand. Nice view. Nature. Travel. Swimming. What place comes to your mind? Is it Boracay? Puerto Galera? Palawan? Camiguin? Bantayan Island in Cebu? Dakak? Have you noticed that all of them are in southern part of the Philippines?

How about going somewhere north? There’s Potipot Island or Capones Island in Zambales, Casiguran in Aurora, and Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte to name a few. Continue reading “>up north: palaui island and anguib beach”

>Taal – Cute Little Volcano

>[2008.02.16]

When you go to Tagaytay, aside from the cold weather, the main attraction is the view of Taal Volcano, known to be the smallest active volcano in the world. And while looking at it, have you wondered how it looks like on a closer perspective and what’s in it?

It is cited in the Philippines as the world’s largest island within a lake, on an island, within a lake on an island. Again again again… A Vulcan Point within crater lake, on Taal island, within Lake Taal, on the island of Luzon. Isn’t it interesting? (source)

So, 3 years ago, we opted to see what has always been seen from a distance. From Taft, Manila, we rode a bus going to Tanauan City, Batangas. And from Tanauan we rode a tricyle going to jeepney terminal headed to Talisay Municipal Hall. From there, just a short tricycle ride to the boat stations, we haggled for our boat fare going to our destination. We were able to get it for P1,000 (this was in year 2008). So, I would say, the many the merrier, and the cheaper as well. Hehe. From the island of Luzon, we crossed Taal Lake to go to Taal Island.

>happy hearts day!

>Feb 14 is really fast approaching. And what’s with the date?
Looking at a usual calendar, it is “St. Valentine’s Day”.
To single ladies and gentlemen out there, it is “Single Awareness Day”.
To those in a relationship, it is “Lover’s Day”.
To sick people, it is “Another Day to be Thankful For”.
To busy people, it’s just an “Ordinary Hectic Day”.
To us, it’s our “Meeting Day”. Hehehe.

By the way, since it is February and you’ll see lots of heart decors everywhere, I’ve thought of sharing our pictures with hearts. Some are obvious, and some, you’ll have to figure out…

Here you go!

A heart that is as hard as stone.
Oh yeah, it is really a stone found on our way to Capones Island lighthouse.
Can you see the heart on Bem’s painting? It is playing hide and seek with you. 🙂
At Pagburnayan Pottery in Vigan, even pots have hearts too.
So salty yet so sweet of Ms. Kristi. hehehe. It is one of the many times we forget it. hahaha!
Irregular heart shape formed by one of the 7 chambers of Callao Cave in Tuguegarao.

Can you see the heart? Or better yet, can you feel the love? char.. 😀

The two are Cagayan De Oro City and Davao City in Mindanao and the other one is Tabuk, Kalinga Apayao in the Northern Luzon.
We are so fortunate and so happy to experience paddling in all of these three rivers.

And if you need reservations to experience paddling with the rapids, do not hesitate to contact us.
We will be glad to help you out.

>travel map

>Do you know what is one thing that inspires us to go to a new place? One of the reasons is our travel map! 🙂

We have this map of the Philippines where in we color the area of each province once we have visited the place. Me and Bembem are so excited to go to a new place especially if the area is big! hehe.

By the way, this map was last updated on January 18 when we went to Davao. We were able to color Davao del Norte when we went to Pearl Farm in Samal Island and Davao del Sur when we toured Davao City. Well, this is just a per province travel map so we got to color a big portion of it. 😀

We’ve shared this map to our friends and it also encourages and motivates them to travel.

Why don’t you have a travel map as well? And let’s have a race on who will be the first to complete a colored map!

Try it! It’s fun!

>Cone in Albay

>

[2009.03.22-23]

When I was still an elementary student, I always read about this volcano that is in perfect shape found in Bicol region. And I always wanted to see for myself if it is really shaped a “perfect cone“. It is an active volcano located in Legazpi City, Albay. Near yet so far. Near from Manila because it is still in Luzon, but far because if you’ll be traveling by land, you need to wait for almost a day just to reach and see the beautiful shape of Mayon Volcano.

So when Cebu Pacific Air had a promo going to Legazpi, Albay, we didn’t think twice. For just 500 pesos, we booked a round trip flight from Manila to Lagazpi and vice versa. Yipeeee! I am so excited to see Mayon Volcano.

Going there, you’ll see lots of coconut trees planted on mountains. It is just so beautiful. And when you reached the airport, you’ll be welcomed by the volcano itself. I was amazed by its beauty. No wonder why it is called “Mayon” Volcano. From the word Magayon meaning beautiful, Mayon Volcano really is beautiful. No questions asked.

>rock rainy summer outing

>[2008.05.12-13]

. fun . laughter . rockfriends . nature .

3-hour travel from Manila, Bato Springs in San Pablo, Laguna is a very nice place to go to during summer. With the coldness of its spring water, man-made falls and pools, you’ll definitely beat the summer heat.
Unfortunately, when we went there, it is already rainy season so we have to bear with the coldness of water. Superrrrrrr lamig ng tubig!!! brrrrr… :)

But, despite the weather, we still enjoyed swimming at the cold spring with free massage c/o of water falls and of course everyone will agree that the place is so beautiful because of its nature-inspired theme.

1st flight

[2007.02.12]

This was unplanned. Karlo just told me that he’s going to CDO for a business trip and would like to experience whitewater rafting. I got excited with the thought of it and so I told him I would love to go with him. I am also excited because this will be my first time to ride on a plane. Excited and nervous, that’s the feeling. So, without second thoughts, I booked a flight to Cagayan de Oro. Hmmm… City of Golden Friendship… With the news I hear about Mindanao and thinking of the name of the City we are bound to go to, that would be interesting!

Of course, since it was my first time, every bit of it is documented! 🙂

Let’s start with our tickets:

And then the places we visit…

Day 1: Camiguin Island – powdery white sand island

Day 2: CDODay 3: Whitewater Rafting Adventure and Macahambus Zipline

>first time

[2007.02.12]

How would you feel if it is your first time? Ooopps! I mean first time to ride an airplane? 🙂 For me it is mixed emotions. Excited. Thrilled. Nervous. And even more excited! 🙂

We are bound to Cagayan de Oro and Camiguin Island and we’ll do whitewater rafting, swimming, and visit places we’ve never been to. Exciting huh! Oh by the way, we also have to do some business. The main reason why my friend, Karlo, is going to CDO. But it doesn’t matter, we know how to combine business with pleasure. And we are very good at it. 🙂

More posts to come on this first trip. Even more posts you should watch out for on my travels with the person I met during this trip.

Until then! 🙂
